The makers cautiously changed Sonakshi’s screen name to Jasmeen Joseph when they realised that Yasmeen Joseph was the real name of yesteryear actor Mandakini
What’s in a name – they say! Apparently a lot, as the makers of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara just seem to have realised. A few days ago, the film’s first look and theatrical trailer were released that introduced its characters with their onscreen names, and this created lot of ripples in B-town.
It so happened that Sonakshi Sinha was called Yasmeen Joseph, which turned out to be the original name of the Ram Teri Ganga Maili actor Mandakini. When the makers woke up to this fact, they decided to modify it to stay clear of controversies. And now Sona’s new screen name will be Jasmeen Joseph. Sinha plays the love interest of Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan in this Milan Luthria film.
The statement from the makers suggests that they were oblivious to this fact and “were stunned by the coincidence”. Sona will now have to re-dub her portions. Wethinks, better safe than sorry.
